I am two weeks and one day away from the Christmas holiday/my friends and family/time off.  I am counting the days.  I have been in a bit of a ‘what the hell am I doing with my life?’ crisis, so a week and a half without email and conference calls at all hours of the day is a beautiful thing.

As you can see from the first photo, I am leaving an island where the average temperature is about 30 C and willingly taking a trip to what looks like an Arctic tundra.  The degrees are negative!  This makes my email-less vacation a little less beautiful, but I’ll make do.

So, there is a new gimmick in one of the malls here.  The mall built a structure that looks like a life-sized snowglobe for willing participants to hang out in -3 C room.  What kind of masochists willingly line up to throw themselves into a life-sized snowglobe in the middle of a mall?  (Don’t worry, I’m heading back there this weekend to find out!)

At the same time, I have to wonder if I am the crazy person returning to the tundra…or if my family and friends are the actual crazy people for living there permanently.  (My bet is on them.)
