Pizza Hut helps people with horrible taste get married to other people with horrible taste.

Who works in Marketing for Pizza Hut in the US and MENA?  Between this and the Middle East ‘Oriental’ promo spotted on Gubbi’s Tumblr, the Singapore menu looks almost healthy and un-crazy.  (It’s not.  It just appears that way.)

I saw Spring Awakening when the musical first debuted in NYC in 2006 (featuring future Gleeks Rachel Berry and Jesse St. James).  I was a little confused as to why German teenagers from the late 1800s were singing rock songs;  this actually still bothers me a bit.  The actors were good, but the punk/rock/1800s style was too much for me.
I was walking home from the grocery store this morning and saw ads for this show coming to Singapore.  Sigh.  I realize I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m going to air my critical and unconfirmed complaints.
Asian actors are going to dress up in 1800s costumes with a punk twist and play characters named Wendela and Melchior from Germany?  I have no imagination - I admit it.
A fairly conservative country is showing a musical about youth sorting through their sexual curiosity?  This may be reason enough to see it:  that is, to see the reaction of fellow theater-goers who had no idea of the plot.  If I see the original image for this show used in advertising…I’ll go and see it.  (I’m betting there is no way they would use it!)
I don’t have anything further.  I thought, I did.  But, I don’t.

I am two weeks and one day away from the Christmas holiday/my friends and family/time off.  I am counting the days.  I have been in a bit of a ‘what the hell am I doing with my life?’ crisis, so a week and a half without email and conference calls at all hours of the day is a beautiful thing.

As you can see from the first photo, I am leaving an island where the average temperature is about 30 C and willingly taking a trip to what looks like an Arctic tundra.  The degrees are negative!  This makes my email-less vacation a little less beautiful, but I’ll make do.

So, there is a new gimmick in one of the malls here.  The mall built a structure that looks like a life-sized snowglobe for willing participants to hang out in -3 C room.  What kind of masochists willingly line up to throw themselves into a life-sized snowglobe in the middle of a mall?  (Don’t worry, I’m heading back there this weekend to find out!)

At the same time, I have to wonder if I am the crazy person returning to the tundra…or if my family and friends are the actual crazy people for living there permanently.  (My bet is on them.)

I think, I’m a little more Singaporean now.

Living in Singapore (or anywhere outside of the US) means that hit TV shows will take longer to get here.  In this case, Glee.  I am oblivious to current tweets and only understand them weeks later - fine, no problem.  So, in the episode this week Blaine leans into Kurt and then awkwardly jerks away.  Then I realize, “Oh!  They had to cut the kiss out!”  Really, Singapore?  I feel like Minnesota and Singapore have an unfortunate commonality right now.  Singapore, you need to grow up so I can watch Glee in it’s complete form.

In case you were curious about Singapore…

I am the Neighborhoodr editor for Singapore.  So, check it out if you’re in Singapore…or thinking about coming through here…or if you wanted to see what else I’m posting about when I’m not posting nonsense here.
